Individual Counseling
As adults, we seek counseling for a multitude of reasons. There may be some combination of anxiety or depression resulting from family, work, church, spouse, friends, children, or all of the above. Life is more complex as we get older, or at least it may feel that way. Each stage of life presents its own unique challenges.
When we’re single, we experience the struggles of the single person: the pressure to find a career, find a spouse, and establish a life. Dating is exciting and nerve-wracking as you decide to be with someone for a season (or not!) or till death do you part. What do you value in a partner? What do you value in yourself?
Relationships change in adulthood. How do we develop adult relationships with our parents? When we have our own children, what do I want to take from my childhood experience and gift to my children as a parent? What do I wish to avoid repeating with my children? There is freedom to see the good, bad, and the ugly as we pursue the type of relationship we truly want with our children across their lifespan as well.
The answers to these questions may seem hard to find. Past wounds may linger, cause pain and difficulty, and frustrate the present day.
I help individuals be the leading author of their story. The story of where you come from influences where you are today and where you are going. There is a story unfolding that is your life. We can allow other people or circumstances to write it for us. We will set goals together that give you greater ownership and hope for your story.
Let’s schedule a time to get started.
